触手[shokushu]

June 17, 2008 at 3:21 pm (doujin(同人), otaku word)

This post contains some pornographic contexts. Viewers’ understanding is required.

As I have said in my previous post, I shall explain one more term which is commonly used in doujin circles as well…That is 触手[shokushu], which means tentacles. Yes, you do know what I am talking about? If you follow hentai anime, game, doujinshi, you would be sure what this is for. When I saw this for the first time, it was in porn anime called 淫魔妖女[imma youjo] and 妖獣教室[youju kyoushitsu]. A lot of tentacles of a weird monster tie her up, poke her…えっと…vagina and scrape…OMG, I can’t say anymore!! At any rate, this is one of the most common ways to create doujin manga, especially hentai. You just pick up some of your favorite bishoujos from the certain work, make tentacles rape her. But why is this that popular?

According to manga artists (or doujin artists), 触手 is very convinient because it is so simple to draw. Unlike men’s…その…えーと…penis, 触手 doesn’t have to be censored even though it functions as men’s sexual organ. And you don’t have to draw guys, but bishoujos only. Torture her as you like…

In tokusatsu AV, this shokushu is frequently used so you can surely see those sentai bishoujos tortured by them. At the certain shop selling tokusatsu AV here, shokushu winds around the stairways…this is true, you know.

Besides, スライム[slime] is also used in such a way, I mean, they melt her costume and get into her…うん、まあ、そんな感じ. Maybe they are mutually friends. ^^

Haha, there was a scene like that in Druaga. “wait for it…. wait for it”, lol

I was just thinking about it but… since you have exposed your real face on this blog, I hope nobody who knows your face and wants to know you better (particularly a prospective girlfriend) stumbles upon this blog and finds out about the kind of stuff you watch 😉

To me shokushu/tentacles are a rather boring genre (not like I normally read doujins and I’ve never watched an AV) A lot of the time it’s a mahou shoujo tai or sentai team or something that deals with the Monster of the Day and gets raped, isn’t it? Anyway it definitely doesn’t turn me on at all.

    wow, another ecchi post LOL

well, anyone who have read ero doujin will know about tentacle but I believe that not everyone of them know the Japanese phrase for it (me, for example ^^)
and tough my doujin preference is a bit extreme but I don’t like stuff without mutual relationship, in other word tentacle and the like are banned in my collection.
and IMHO its not a big deal to write about this kind of stuff, since you’re just writing the basic idea/information, it would be a different case if you start to write a deep article about it

Ruki: There’s a scene like this in Words Worth, too. lol

w: I am not worried about it because none of my Japanese friends reads this(though I told some of them), and will read. 🙂 Even if they find this blog, they are not willing to read since it is written in English.

Tentacles come from nowhere and rape girls…I have seen this a lot of times. The truth is that I don’t like this because it’s too grotesque.

Neohybrid_kai: I used to avoid shoukushu when I still followed hentai anime. I do like mutual relationship of human beings.
Doujin and ecchi mustn’t be separated! ^^ Once I take a doujin term, it probably relates to ecchi, you know.

Well Bangin is our otaku sensei, he has to teach everything. Or else it’s like attending biology class and skipping the sexual reproduction chapter.

I am hoping someone could start such a class[オタク学] at university. I think I will definitely take it!

Oops, I am not a student anyway.

lol, I’m seeing images of bangin-sensei going all deredere “iyaa hazukashii~” with this post XD

I haven’t really thought much about えーと… tentacles, not that I want to bother with them. So yeah, this provides great insights as to why that is such a popular “plot device” in these H-stuff.

Anyone who has a taste for humiliation loves shokushu, I assume.
We call this genre 恥辱プレイ[chijoku play]. www

Woah… that’s a simple explanation that makes so much sense. I always thought there was more reason why there is so much tentacle action in hentai. I thought that this kink evolved from some erotic image from the Edo period. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dream_of_the_Fisherman's_Wife)

(Did you notice that almost all of the this spring season’s anime had at least one scene that involved tentacles from squid/plants/unidentifyablethings ?! I swear that I can point out at least one instance where a character is roped up by tentacles of some sort.)

It must be a service for shokushu fans! Even if the author doesn’t mean to turn fans on, they would freak out and make a shokushu doujin comic or whatever. lol

“(Did you notice that almost all of the this spring season’s anime had at least one scene…”

ahh.. actually, it might be because it is spring…. and the artists are lonely.

    What about autumn? lol

  13. joe said,

ah.. when its spring its tentacle time.

i think autumn is probably romance time… well see when the autumn anime starts 🙂
