アホ毛[ahoge]
I am not really sure about this, but there are so many people who freak out for this アホ毛. It doesn’t seem to be difficult to understand this term; アホ[aho] means idiot or stupid, and 毛[ke] means hair. So this means a piece of hair that is popping out of the head. It looks like an insect’s feeler. According to wikipedia, it says frizz in English, is that right?
Anyway, if you look any bishoujo anime carefully, there must be at least one girl who has アホ毛. Well, I can think of Saber(Fate), or…I don’t know. 😦 I feel nothing about this, so if you have a thing for アホ毛, could you tell me what makes so many anime otaku freak out?

Frizzy hair is different. On a humid day, when all sorts of little hairs are sticking up and keeping your hair from being smooth, that’s frizz. It’s something that happens all over your head.
One lock of hair sticking up — I don’t think we’ve got a word for that, although maybe there’s some slang term.
If it’s the same lock of hair all the time, though, it’s probably a “cowlick”. That’s a bit of your hair that grows in a different way than the rest.

Ah, it looks like “being licked by a cow”? It’s so nice to learn, many thanks for your comment! :)) Such ahoge is usually the same all the time, so I think a cowlick is close to it the most.

Thank you for any other fantastic post. Where else may just anybody getthat kind of information in such an ideal meansof writing? I’ve a protnesatien next week, and I’m on the search for such info.

A cowlick really doesn’t stick up, I would say. It’s more like a bit of hair hanging oddly, conflicting with the way the rest of the hair is growing.
Among English-speaking anime fans, there is no English equivalent of アホ毛 — we usually just use “ahoge” as a borrowed usage.

So like moe, ahoge has no alternative…Maybe that would be better. If there is always alternative, it would be meaningless on this blog. lol

I’ve heard people refer ahoge as antennae (especially if the character has two ahoge sticking up, like Naru from Love Hina), like on an insect. Some anime would even make ahoge move on its own like antennae, so I guess that’s where the term stemmed from.
I remember learning ahoge when Himeko from Pani Poni Dash lost her ahoge in an episode… don’t ask me.

Then Nagisa in CLANNAD is more preferable than Sekai in School Days?
I suppose there would be a girl who has three ahoge coming out in the future…XD

I thought there was a girl with three ahoge. Wouldn’t it be Sanae (I think that’s her name, Nagisa’s mother)?

Yes you’re right. Sanae-san is Nagisa’s mother. She has three ahoge.

I am not too sure, but I don’t think it could last so long. So far we had 12 episodes, but maybe soon it will end?

I’ve always wondered what that was called. Haha. I know Nanami from Sukisho had a wicked ahoge. It stands up straight when he’s mad. Haha.

There has to be at least one character who has an ahoge in this kind of anime or game. Sukisho is…a shota-game, isn’t it?
