[Cosplay] Catch me if you can -Durarara!! Part 2-
Okay so here goes Durarara!! cosplay part 2. In this entry, it focuses on our acting. In fact, I directed a bit, so you might be feeling something different from the original. Please be patient that I made a quick dialogue. When I cosplayed with this Izaya cosplayer(Keith) before, I directed his acting and told the photographer(tokyo moe) how I wanted him to take. I did the same thing this time, too. My Izaya did a great job as well as the photographer. By the way, he is far younger than me even though Shizuo and Izaya are the same age. And Keith actually belongs to a certain seiyu agency, however he also does actor things. Now he hasn’t made a debut yet, but I hope he will.
Izaya is something I don’t understand. What he thinks, how he feels, I don’t know at all. Shizuo is still easier to understand; he looks scary, but actually gentle. He just hopes a peaceful life, but for some reason wherever he goes, something happens and he can’t relax. What about Izaya? He is so annoying, and we say ウザい[uzai]. The funny thing is that some fans call him ウザヤ[uzaya] to pun upon his name. At any rate, I think it is really difficult to act Izaya because there is too much interpreting. The same goes to Nagisa Kaworu in Neon Genesis Evangelion. I have cosplayed him before, and it was very difficult to act, I still remember. But…that is why fans try to cosplay, try to understand.

Shizuo: Izaya, didn’t I tell you not to come to Ikebukuro, eh?
Izaya: Are you going to hit me, Shizu-chan?
Shizuo: You really piss me off, bastard!!
Shizuo: You ruined my life!!
Izaya: I don’t know what you are talking about.
Izaya: People are so interesting, especially you, Shizu-chan…
Shizuo: Hey, wait up!! 待てゴルァァァア！！
Shizuo: I hope my younger brother is doing good.
Shizuo: But…that fucking bastard showed again!
Shizuo: IZAYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!
Izaya: Ahaha, look at you Shizu-chan. Look pretty bad.
Izaya: You should wear your glasses. It’s your symbol, isn’t it?
Izaya: Yup, it’s perfect.
Izaya: I love people, but not you.
Izaya: Well, I’m not sure. Maybe I love you. See ya, Shizu-chan.

It’s great to see how a cosplayer mind works! Behind the photos, there’s actually so much thinking and acting involved, it’s incredible. You’ve got really cool shots and nice angles, everything is so original. The last pictures, the ones where Shizuo is all beaten up, are the coolest! You always makes me happy with your great cosplay, bangin. You and Keith are amazing. I can’t wait to know which character you’re going to cosplay next.

Ahaha～thank you very much. Yes we discussed how we took, strike a pose, or that kind of thing. And the camera thing, I just left it to the photographer. He tried a lot in order to make photos look beautiful. Without his help, this cosplay wouldn’t have come true. I really really appreciate his awesome camera skill.

Amazing shots! I like everything about them. The 5th, 12th and the last pics are definetly my favorites. (Yep, i did count them 😀 ) Congratulations!
I first looked at the photos and then read your comments (always do that unfortunatedly) and i actually didn’t recognize Keith as the cosplayer you shot Crawl Beneath Me with. Somehow he looks so different with dark hair (Better! He he!)

Haha, both of Keith’s hair are a wig. His real hair is a bit brown, but he likes black haired characters. lol

Actually I have. I used to be a member of the drama group at school. But I didn’t get the main part, but always a supporting character. But if you cosplay, anyone can be the lead. If you cosplay Lelouch, you can be. If you cosplay Suzumiya Haruhi, you can be. That is why I enjoy cosplay. You can be someone you love, and no one complains. I like to act someone I like!

Lol~ saw from your album that you also have a vending machine shot where you're pretending to lift it up! XD The angle makes it look like you've really lifted it! That's a real nice one too!

Oh thank you very much! The photographer is used to have a photoshooting so I didn’t have to tell him about angles. I almost left it to him.^^
I just directed my Izaya, and he did as I told. He is a nice actor!
I am thinking of cosplaying either Hijikata or Saito.

In spite of what you said about photographs not being as good as you wish it to be. There is always, as you can say about revenge. That I am actually in anticipation for, if you will do this cosplay again. But I definitely like how the cosplay shoot turned out, I like how dreamy some of the shots look, filtered or not with photoshop? Lighting will always be an issue with the time of day, and probably lack of lighting equipment? Shizuo is a favorite character of mine from Durarara, so it is fantastic the way you pulled his emotions and rage so well.

Thank you very much. I think the reason why these photos look great is because the photographer knows about Durarara!!. So that he understands the attitude or the mood. This makes a big difference. No matter how well a photographer can take photos, it doesn’t mean those shots are great as a “cosplay photo.”
All of this means, I was really lucky!

XD Izaya makes me wonder if he actually love anyone or anything. In the English fandom, there is such a thing called characters rating on livejournal community for most series… Fans fill a questionaire and other fans help to stamp them to see which characters they may resemble the most. T^T I do not want to be stamped Izaya at all… even when I love him as a 2-d character, it will be a bad thing if someone similar to him existed in anyone's reality world. However, people and characters are both too complicated and nobody can resemble someone else that much.

Yes since we know Izaya is a 2D character, he is lovable. But I don’t really like someone like him in the real life. Really annoying.
The Izaya cosplayer asked me to cosplay Shizuo, so I didn’t know about him that much. As I acted him, I started to like him. But at the same time, Izaya really pissed me off.
